We didn’t have any plans for staying the night that night. We started looking at the map to find a campground on the way home. That’s how we found this campground in Badlands National Park. We didn’t even plan to visit this park at all, but we are so glad we did. Click to view my Badlands National Park review and pictures.
When we arrived at the campground it was around 8 pm. There were four campsites left. We decided to take No. 4. Not too close or too far from a bathroom. Each site has a nice table and chair. Parking spaces are wide enough to get your camping equipment out. The ground, however, was so hard.
The view was just fantastic. It was around 8pm. It was getting dark and we saw a beautiful sunset from the campground. There's almost nothing in the skyline to block the sunset. The sky is so wide, at night, you can see millions of stars.
The downside to this site is the campfire restriction. We still had some wood for a campfire, but this place doesn’t allow you to have a campfire. I guess the air is so dry and windy that it might be dangerous to make a fire. It was our last camping experience, so we really wanted to enjoy the campfire. We love a campfire! That was the only thing I was disappointed about there. Cedar Pass Campground was our last camping on this American cross country road trip. Over all, I gave 7 stars out of 10. Each site has enough space, was quiet, had a clean bathroom, chair and a table.
