TRIP DETAILS
Planning the trip was the hardest part. We didn't know how or where to start. So we started by making a list of all the places we wanted to go. We figured out how to get there and how many days were needed. After that was decided, we used Google maps to calculate how long it would take to get from place to place. Google maps is great!
After I calculated the hours, I printed out maps for each day. I knew that some places I wouldn't be able to use my iPhone to look at Google maps on the internet. We bought a Road Atlas - RV and Camping Edition too. This map has camping grounds and national parks information. Amazing map!
A plan is just a plan, and you can always change the plan. We made reservations for 6 campgrounds before the trip. However, we quickly changed our plans after we started the trip. A few times, we canceled campground reservations because of the weather... Well, we slept in a tent even though it was pouring rain, thunderstorms and lightning, at least 4 times. Not fun to sleep in the tent with those kind of conditions. When we decided to change parts of our plan, we called campgrounds for cancellations and made new reservations for our new location.
